Research on the bonding properties of vitrified bonds with porous diamonds and the grinding performance of porous diamond abrasive tools

Ordinary diamond presents the disadvantages of poor self-sharpening and concentrated grinding stress when it is used as an abrasive. Moreover, this kind cannot be well wetted by vitrified bond, resulting in a lower holding force binder to abrasives (i.e., easy detach from matrix during grinding). These comprehensive factors not only reduce surface quality processed workpiece, but also hinder processing efficiency. In order solve these problems, new type porous with high properties was prepared using thermochemical corrosion method study. Our results showed great improvement pore volume specific area compared ordinary abrasive particles, wettability bond particles were improved. Compared tools, tools 29.6% increase efficiency, 15.5% decreased ratio, 27.5% reduction workpiece roughness, scratches on silicon wafer reduced refined.
